Mother and Son Luncheon Information Mother and Son Scholarship Application Form

The North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host the 15th Annual Mother and Son Luncheon on Saturday April 28, 2012. We invite mothers, fathers, counselors, and community leaders to participate in this program that is designed to recognize and uplift young African-American men, ages 13-18, in Anne Arundel County.

To participate in our program, we ask that you write a one-page letter entitled "Let Me Tell You About My Son” or “Let Me Tell You About an Outstanding Young Man". This letter should come from the heart and outline why you are proud of your young man's accomplishments in school, the community, and/or church. The completed package must include the following:

  • One page letter – “Let Me Tell You About My Son” or “Let Me Tell You About an Outstanding Young Man”;
  • Completed profile (see Enclosure 1);
  • One 3 x 5 picture

In addition, this year we will award a special stipent to support the education of a graduating Anne Arndel County high school senior who plans to attend college or technical school. To be considered, the candiidate must submit the following:

  • Completed application form (see Enclosure 2);
  • Your high school transcript;
  • One letter of recommendation;
  • Copy of college acceptance letter, or names of schools to which you have applied, if you are still awaiting replies.

Applications must be postmarked by Saturday, March 3, 2012. Applications should be mailed to:

NACAC is a PUBLIC SERVICE organization that operates in the North and West Anne Arundel County areas. NACAC has played a vital role in the North and West County area since its inception in 1989 and continues to provide innovative programs to improve the lives of families and individuals in the entire community.
