EMBODI stands for Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence. This is a new initiative implemented by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Grand Chapter. EMBODI is a male mentoring program for young men ages 11 to 18. The program is designed to promote and provide opportunities to improve the quality of life of African American males through a comprehensive approach aimed at developing their overall potential.
The EMBODI Boys Mentoring and Leadership Program will:
Provide academic enrichment, college and career exploration and personal development opportunities to each participant;
Expose participants to cultural and heritage events to gain a better understanding of diversity and;
Participate in community activities and opportunities to interact with community professionals and positive male role models.
We are proud to announce that North Arundel County Alumnae Chapter (NACAC) was recognized for its EMBODI program at the Eastern Regional Conference in June 2011.
EMBODI will meet on the third Saturday of each month for 2 hours at a local facility within the Anne Arundel County/metropolitan area. If you would like to refer a young man whom you think will enjoy and benefit from this program, contact the chapter via email at email@example.com for more information.
